Parenting Leadership Subcommittee

Great Start System Results:
Families support and guide the early learning of their infants and young children.

Charge:
The Parenting Leadership Subcommittee is composed of local leaders and content experts. The subcommittee will provide a forum for shared leadership, coordinated planning and strategic communication to improve the parenting education & family support outcomes of all young children and their families in Oakland County. The work of this subcommittee concerns: access, quality, standards, capacity, innovation, evidence-based practice/research, workforce development, finance, and interface with other components (program and service integration), with a specific focus on addressing racial, cultural, and ethnic disparities in the context of this component.  To view the Year Three Action Agenda click here.

Meeting Information

The Parent Leadership and Family Support Subcommittee meets on the fourth Thursday in May (7/22/10) and then meets every other month from 1:00-3:00 at CAREHouse. To view GSC-O's full calendar of meetings online click here.

 

The Parenting Leadership Subcommittee has several Task Force Workgroups.  These workgroups are designed to focus on specific projects from the action agenda.  Specific projects include (1) parenting resource guide; (2) parenting outreach events; (3) parenting kiosk; (4) parenting conference; and (5) strengthening families framework.  For a summary of these workgroups to date click here.
