Charge:
The Child Care & Early Education Subcommittee is composed of local leaders and content experts. The subcommittee will provide a forum for shared leadership, coordinated planning and strategic communication to improve the early care & education outcomes of all young children and their families in Oakland County. The work of this subcommittee concerns: access, quality, standards, capacity, innovation, evidence-based practice/research, workforce development, finance, and interface with other components (program and service integration), with a specific focus on addressing racial, cultural, and ethnic disparities in the context of this component.  To view the Year Five Action Agenda click here.

Meeting Information

The Child Care and Early Education Subcommittee meets the first Tuesday of February (2/07/12) and then meets every other month from 1:30-3:30 at Oakland Schools. To view GSC-O's full calendar of meetings online click here.

 

The Child Care and Early Education Subcommittee has several Task Force Workgroups.  These workgroups are designed to focus on specific projects from the action agenda.  Specific projects include (1) Ages and Stages Developmental Screening; (2) Child Care Scholarships; (3) career lattice; (4) quality improvement/TQRIS; (5) joint recruitment (specific focus in Pontiac); and (6) transitions/connections from EC to K-12.
